My july 4th adventure started on June 30th
Silver got her 4mos immunizations on thursday
We decided to go to Costco anyway- she was cranky and I spent half an
hour singing and rocking her to get her to sleep.
Friday she went to daycare.
Saturday we went to Pads and Julies to play D&D - Silver was ok a
little warm and cranky but not bad for the most part she was still
eating and still happy.
We took her temp and it got as high as 102 but we thought well thats
normal with shots.
No biggie - Saturday night she ate well and slept well.
Sunday morning she woke up and was burning up and had a rash over her
eyebrows. she was irritable and whenever we moved her she would cry.
We took her temp and it was 103. something.
We called the dr and he said take her to the ER so we did.
We get to the ER about 930-10a and they say she has a cold that is
affecting her throat. No big deal take her home make sure she gets
plenty of fluids and take it easy.
Well we werent planning anything major except to go to a party - so
instead of taking her with us we decided to go to the party in shifts.
I went first and had a good time.
Came home a little tipsy. Then Josh went but told me that Silver
hadnt eaten since 8p
and then she only ate little bit about 1oz. She was also crying a lot
Well To make a long story longer we her took her to the ER at about
230am because she was burning up and the rash had become worse.
She still hadnt eaten much and was really fussy.
We got there and they did all sorts of tests including a spinal tap.
Which confirmed my fear that she had Spinal Meningitis.
And that is a stupid name because all Meningitis is spinal... At any
rate it was a viral kind of meningitis not the lets freak out and warn
the world kind of bacterial meningitis.
Anyway she was admitted into the hospital and had a high fever Monday
and Tuesday. They gave her antibiotics and had her on an IV. She
also did not want to be touched, or picked up or anything. And would
cry every time someone touched her.
Yesterday they took her IV out and she didnt have a fever at all. She
was doing well yesterday but they kept her till today because they
wanted to wait for one final culture reading.
So I have spent the last three days at the hospital with Silver. She
is doing well now and I am so happy. She is laughing and chatting
and grabbing her feet again. Its wonderful.
Ok thats all for now.
:)
However she is doing well now
